Wonders of Web Weaving: https://web-weaving.jamesg.blog/

Quote:In each episode, [James has] a conversation with someone who loves to make websites.

Whether you are on a train and want something to listen to while you watch the world go by, at home and in need of inspiration for your next web weaving adventure, or somewhere else -- this podcast is for you.

I still refuse to type alla that out.

So I got to playing this Squeenix Gacha Game literally no one asked for, because it was almost laser targeted to me wanting my blorbos and numbers going up. I say "almost" because it's also a competitive teamwork and I'm full of SKILL ISSUE.

It's been funny as hell, and at least the community has been nice and supportive.

That is, stuff that's still around thanks to some creative, dedicated, and frankly resourceful people!

Dreamcast
Homebrew, specifically. In short, the copy protection was easily thwarted and yadda yadda yadda it's real easy to create a community around getting games on the Dreamcast! IMO it's such good hardware so ahead of it's time and I'm so grateful it lives!

Satellaview
But personally, my favorite thing has been The Satellaview. The concept is incredibly cool to me! Games and news beamed directly to your console. Listen, it's old hat now but revolutionary in the mid-90s. It's been resurrected as its revival service "Satellaview+."

Radical Dreamers, one of my favorite games, was originally a Satellaview joint.

And those are the two that immediately come to mind, but I know there's more! Tell us about them!

On my blog I've rambled on about repurposing an old computer tower I just had laying around and couldn't part with. But after that initial rush, there was also a rush due to Life Upheaval, and general Life is Life-in stuff, and the project just fell to the wayside. It now sits in the living room, a keyboard/mouse combo resting on it, within reach of the long HDMI cable attached to the television. I hate that I've been too busy.

It's time to play with it once again! Once I get a breather, I'll do a long-overdue MEMTEST and see if anyone has any RAM to spare. Maybe even change up the Distro. In my dream of dreams, I could even start up a Gemini thing! But that's incredibly ambitious. But hey, go big.

So, yes, adventure!

...to be continued.

P.S the prophecy had come true! I warned you:Your Chromebook is next.

They're not as big as a laptop and, you know, another thing I can slap Linux on. And did I mention that it's smol?

Everything else is coming back, so why not these lil funkies?!

Tiny World needs tiny comps!

I am absolutely going to post my competitive pokemon nonsense here as soon as I have the energy for it.
